Eureka City Administrator Ian Martell To Retire After 12 Years Of Service
On September 28, City Administrator Ian Martell announced to Eureka City Council members that he would be retiring before the year’s end. In his letter submitted to city officials, Martell, who has held the position for the last 12 years, noted that the highlight of his time working for the city was being named Municipal City Manager of the Year in March of 2015.
As Martell announced his retirement at the city council meeting last Monday night, he stated, “I feel proud I’ve had the opportunity to fix all the things that we have fixed.” In particular, he noted programs pertaining to the sewer and water systems.
