EMS Concerns Brought Up During Commission Meeting

Greenwood County EMS concerns were discussed during the most recent Greenwood County Commission meeting, which was held on Monday morning of this week.

EMS Director Brian Mongeau shared that they are currently looking for additional part-time EMTs to help with transfers and additional calls that may happen at the same time. Mongeau shared that he currently has three full-time EMTs and nine part-time employees, with three being from Madison and one residing in Severy. He shared that the lack of EMTs in Greenwood County has caused them to turn down transfers and has caused issues when multiple calls come in, but noted that they have received assistance from neighboring counties.
