EHS Golf Team Took Third At Home Meet
In their 2018 Invitational on Wednesday, April 4, the Eureka High School boys golf team earned their first team medals of the season by shooting a season-best 392 and finishing in third-place. Junior Tanner Wells led the Tornadoes by firing an 84 – his low score of the year – good for the fourth-place medal, while senior Pete Basham also shot his low round of the year, missing a medal by just two shots with a 98. Rounding out the team scoring were sophomore Brandon Darbyshire, another EHS golfer who shot his low score of the season with 105, and fellow sophomore Caden Adkins also with a 105. Rounding out the team were juniors Tyler Findley, 108, and Jonathan Turner, 111.
On Monday, April 2, the Varsity golf team competed in very cold conditions at Prairie Ridge Golf Course in the Erie Invitational and finished in fourth place. Wells continued his solid early season play by taking 10th place with a hard-fought 91, coming back from a rocky start. Findley and Turner each scored 110 and Darbyshire added a 112 to round out the team scoring. Adkins with a 113 and Basham with a 114 were the other competitors for EHS.
