Commissioners Held First Meeting With Five Members
At 9 a.m. on Monday, November 18, the first call to order was held with a five-man commission staff. New members Roy Ballard and Robert Joe Morgan joined the commission table, contributing when able and receiving insights into meeting procedures when needed.
Greenwood County Road and Bridge Supervisor Darrel Chrisman updated the commissioners on current Road and Bridge projects, stating that most of their current work is “routine stuff.” Chrisman also informed the commissioners that the bridge on 360th Street near Madison is nearly completed, estimating that in a week’s time, work there would be completed. Chrisman told commissioners that truck number five is back in operation after having gotten it back from making necessary repairs. The bridge at 175th and EE will soon be under construction due to a culvert issue.
Greenwood County Commissioner Morgan made his first address, posing a question to Chrisman regarding a portion of roadway near the entrance of a driveway east of town. Chrisman replied with intent to look into the situation.
