Approved Purchase Of 40 Touchless Thermometers
Road and Bridge Department won the bid to purchase a pothole patcher
On Monday, June 29, Emergency Management Director Levi Vinson told commissioners that he was able to locate a company selling touchless thermometers. He noted that since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, touchless thermometers had been unavailable. Recently, Vinson contacted Cintas Business Services and the company now has touchless thermometers available for order, with a 40 thermometer minimum. As council members began accounting for schools, buses and departments throughout the county, they noted that 40 could easily be utilized. Vinson estimated that $2,600 would be needed for the purchase. Commissioners approved the purchase of 40 touchless thermometers.
Road and Bridge supervisor Darrell Chrisman told commissioners that Greenwood County won the bid for the purchase of the pothole patcher that commissioners approved the department spending up to $40,000 on. Chrisman reported that their winning bid was in the amount of $15,400. The department will now be shopping for reasonable oil prices for the patcher.
