Absconded Greenwood County Inmate Still Missing

On Monday, January 28, Anthony Lee Keyes of El Dorado absconded from Greenwood County custody while serving on an inmate work crew in Eureka. According to an official press release from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office on Monday of this week, Keyes was last seen working in the shop area of the Greenwood County Road and Bridge Department. While searching for Keyes, dispatch received a call stating that a family member, who was unaware he absconded from custody, gave him a ride to El Dorado. Deputies then reviewed surveillance footage that showed Keyes walking east away from the building until he as no longer visible on camera. This occurred while other inmates were being transported back to the jail.

Keyes was most recently arrested on November 8 for Possession of opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant; Burglary, vehicle to commit felony, theft or sexually motived crime; Theft or property or services, value $1,500 to $25,000; Use/possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia into human body; and Driving while suspended, 3rd or subsequent conviction.
