$7.5 Million Bond Approved By USD 389 Voters

Eureka USD 389 voters took to the polls last Wednesday, January 30, to cast their ballots for the $7.5 million bond election. After canvassing the votes on Monday, official totals were shared. A total of 812 voters participated in the election, either at the polls, or with a mail-in ballot. With 470 votes in favor, 340 against, and two incomplete ballots, the bond issue passed favorably.

There are 2,570 active registered voters in Eureka USD 389, primarily in Greenwood County, with one registered in Butler County, 13 in Elk County, and 293 in Woodson County. Outof-county voters, who are within the Eureka USD 389, were mailed applications for ballots prior to the election. Those that returned the applications were mailed a ballot.

In 2017, a total of 629 voters cast their ballot for USD 389 school board positions. There were 590 in 2015 and 141 in 2013.
