Patriot Wrestling Opened Season At Burlington
The West Elk Patriot wrestling teams opened their winter season last Friday, December 1, at the Wildcat Duals in Burlington. Patriot junior Creyo Koop went 5-0 at the tournament and was named to the All-Tournament team. He also pinned the four opponents he faced, with a combined total of 1:05 for the second place finish with the most pins in the fastest time. He won by default against Iola. City Of Eureka/IdeaTek Awarded Grant For Fiber Internet
During the November 27 meeting of the Eureka City Council, Mayor Stephen Coulter announced that fiber would be coming to town. Coulter told members of the council that he just received notification that IdeaTek and the City of Eureka had received a Broadband Acceleration Grant award for the amount of $879,977 to bring fiber to the community.
