KWCA Kansas Shrine Duals Raised $25,000 For Shriners Children’s
Kansas Shrine All-Star Events is excited to announce that the inaugural KWCA Kansas Shrine Duals raised $25,000 for Shriners Children’s. The high school senior all-star wrestling event that featured 56 of the state’s top girls and boys wrestlers was held on Sunday, March 17, in Wichita, on the campus of Newman University.

Greenwood County Fair Association Stockholders Meeting
The Greenwood County Fair Association (GCFA) annual Stockholders meeting was held on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m., at the Eureka Public Library. Directors present included: President Dr. Kailey Fitzmorris, Vice President Justin Branine, Secretary Stacy Randle, Treasurer Tom Perrier, Jamie Nelson, Dr. Harold Garner, Craig Miller and Linda Snyder. Director Garry Edmondson was absent.

Boil Water Advisory Rescinded For The City Of Fall River
TOPEKA – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded a boil water advisory for the City of Fall River public water supply system located in Greenwood County. The advisory was issued because of a line break resulting in a loss of pressure in the system. Failure to maintain adequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination.

April Is National Child Abuse Prevention Month
WICHITA - April is National Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Month, a time to focus on community collaboration and collective ways to help families and children thrive. Kansas Children’s Service League (KCSL), as the Kansas chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, and other child wellness partners join forces to recognize the prevention teams, programs and partners working year-round to create awareness about the public health issue of abuse and neglect. The theme of this year’s awareness and impact campaign, led by Prevent Child Abuse America and its national network of state chapters, is “Building A Hopeful Future, Together.”

LifeWise Academy In Madison Held Appreciation Fish Fry
Last fall, LifeWise Academy in Madison began offering classes to Madison- Virgil Elementary students in grades first through fifth. As of last month, the academy had 56 students or 67% of firstfifth graders enrolled in the non-denominational program that is held at the conveniently located First Baptist Church. With the support of the community with them, the LifeWise team hosted an appreciation fish fry last month at the Sauder Community Center, in Madison, where they served 170 people.
