Governor Requests Extension To File For Major Severe Thunderstorm Disaster Declaration

Governor Laura Kelly has sent a letter to FEMA asking for an extension to submit a request for a major disaster. The letter asks for an extension to July 29, 2024, to submit for the public assistance program for severe thunderstorms that impacted the state April 25-30, accompanied by large hail, damaging straight linewinds, tornadoes, and tor-rential rainfall resulting in flooding. 05/14/2024 11:00 PM
