K-105 To Close For Culvert Replacement
Weather permitting, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) plans to close K-105 to through traffic from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18. KDOT is replacing a culvert underneath the highway between Point and Coyote roads.

Tornado Golf Competed At Regionals
Eureka seniors Annaliese Casper and Kate Tourelle and junior Keira Crisswell traveled to Girard on Monday of this week for 3-1A Regional Action. As of press time, the Ladies were still competing in the 18-hole tournament.

36th Annual Field Trials To Begin On Monday
This coming Monday, field trial participants from across the nation and Canada will visit the Eureka area for the 36th annual National field trials.

Annular Eclipse This Saturday
A rare “ring of fire” solar eclipse will be visible to those in the United States this Saturday, October 14, with those in Kansas being able to see the annular eclipse beginning at around 10:20 a.m. and peak at roughly 11:45 a.m. Maximum obscuration of the sun will be 60% in far northeast Kansas and increases as you travel south and west. Wichita residents can expect to see about 70% of the sun blocked by the moon.

Four County Archers Claimed 21 Awards At 4-H State Archery
The 2023 4-H State Archery Competition was held at T.H.E. Archery on Saturday, September 30. Ten Greenwood County kids were among 226 youth archers competing from across the state. The Greenwood County State competitors were Seniors (age 14-18): Wylee Boulanger, Makenna Engle, Jayden Smith and Savannah Bruno-Pelky and in the Juniors (age 9-13): Chason Gulick, Fisher Hobbs, Camden Wunderlich, William Burkhart, Adleigh Ray and Jackson Hobbs. Four participants Boulanger, Gulick, Wunderlich and F. Hobbs received a total of 21 awards.
