The first meeting of the Marshall Elementary (ME) PTA was called to order on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 5:31 p.m. at ME. In attendance were five school representatives. There were 10 community members, including all current officers. No previous meeting minutes were read, as this was the first official meeting of the school year. Beth Whitehead reported on the President’s report, whose main focus was the upcoming fundraiser for the school. Marshall PTA will be continuing the “Believe Kids Fundraiser,” which is the catalogs to purchase items from. Students will have catalogs and order forms to start selling items from Oct. 5-19. Delivery for the items purchased will be in early December. These items will come to the school and then students can pick up their orders to begin distributing to their customers. The money raised from this fundraiser will help fund updating and relocating the Outdoor Classroom and beautifying the playground by updating some painting on the playground asphalt by Abbey Zimmerman. The treasurer’s report and current financials were discussed. A motion to approve the 2026-27 budget was made by Ariel Treece and seconded by Diana K. Sutton. The committee approved the 2026-2027 budget.
Committee reports were discussed, and committee sign-ups for the new school year were completed. Heidi Boone presented 4th-quarter honor roll information. There were 80 students who received a candy bar with a drink from Eastside for receiving the Honor Roll recognition. PTA provides funds for teacher grants throughout the year and over the summer PTA officers approved a grant for the ECH/PreK classes for the Scholastic Program. Each ECH/PreK child will get access to a Scholastic magazine.
