West Elk Football Fell To Southeast Cherokee

Although West Elk was first to find the endzone last Friday, Southeast Cherokee quickly took charge of the momentum. The Patriots fell 20-67.

“We had no answer for Southeast’s run game,” stated head coach Ian Denton. “Anytime they needed a big play, they got it. Hats off to them. We were a step slow and out of position on defense all night.” He continued, “Offensively we struggled up front which led to a couple of turnovers that put the game out of reach. We also had a couple penalties that cost us big gains. We had a couple bright spots but overall a disappointing performance by us.”
