Both communities are gearing up for this week’s always-exciting Homecoming festivities.
Hamilton’s festivities kick off with a community bonfire on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. A Homecoming Parade, free hamburger/ hot dog feed, bonfire and pep rally will help set the tone for the Homecoming game Friday night in Madison, where they will take on the Crest Lancers.
Madison is preparing for a weekend-long Alumni/ Homecoming celebration.
Their festivities kick off with the Madison High School (MHS) Pep Rally with potential alumni involvement on Friday from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.
All alumni/classes are encouraged to tailgate before the game beginning at 5 p.m.
At 6 p.m., the Madison Masonic Lodge will be serving sliced pork loin sandwich meals for a free-will donation. Proceeds go to student and community needs.
The game kicks off at 7 p.m. and admission will be free to all thanks to “Friends of the late Kenny Elrod – Head Dawg.”
The Homecoming ceremony, for both Madison and Hamilton, will take place after the game.
Saturday morning, the Verdigris Valley Community Foundation will be serving biscuits and gravy at The Sauder Center, in Madison. All proceeds will go towards community and economic development and maintenance of The Sauder Center.
Harry C’s Courtyard on Main Street will serve as a hub for alumni and guests to come and go throughout the day, before and after the Alumni Dinner, which starts at 5:30 p.m. at MHS. The meal will be catered by alumni Owen Reed (Smokin’ O’s), and the Class of 1976 will be honored.
On Sunday, the annual Fall Fest Golf Tournament will begin at 9 a.m. at Madison Golf Course.
