Yay, Fall is finally here (Tuesday the 22nd). Never thought I’d ever utter those words as I prefer warmer weather, but not the scorching hot we’ve been having. So... Welcome Autumn!

Hello to all in area nursing and assisted living facilities. Hello also to all in area hospitals and rehab centers. I’m driving to Burlington every 3-4 days to visit with Wade as he is getting his strength built up.

The Toronto Senior Center’s annual hamburger feed was last Wednesday. There was a big turnout for the food, conversations and to listen to the music of Don “Hummer” Humbird, Kevin Lawrence and John Himes.
I’ve been having quite a few wild visitors lately and I don’t mean friends and relatives. I saw a young armadillo outside a door, then Sunday I saw two wild turkeys in my yard and lots of crows. The crows were picking up walnuts. I don’t know if they eat walnuts or if they were mad at some person and decided to dive bomb them. We see deer often, as well as the usual creatures like rabbits, groundhogs, squirrels and birds.

I had a family get-together in Chanute on Saturday at 12:30. It was good to get together and visit and it not be at a funeral. Sadly, everyone gets so busy it’s hard to plan events. Family gathered from Chanute, Eureka, Goddard, Iola, Pittsburg, Toronto and Wichita.
