The monthly meeting of the Madison Pacesetters 4-H Club was called to order by Junior President Kenyon Curry on Sept. 2. Pate Schankie led the club in saying the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H pledge. The roll call was “What is your favorite sport?” Roll call was answered by 31 members, three cloverbuds, and two leaders. A quorum was present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read aloud by Secretary Jorja Beeman and were approved by signing by Jr. President Kenyon Curry. The treasurer’s report was given by Wyatt Hoag. The reporter’s report was given by Haddie Mae Seaton.
Ty Gaines gave his leader’s report, reminding the group about dates and what all he has learned from club members, as well as watching all of the group grow. Gaines told the group good job at the county fair and congratulated the members who participated in Sweepstakes. He also told the group that the record and officer books were due on Sept. 19, and to either give to him or Sherry Roth. Online 4-H enrollment opens on Oct.1. Gaines recommended that club members get that done as soon as possible. KYLF is Oct. 15. All of the signup sheets for the meeting will be out on tables at the next meeting.
Clinton Laflin was at the meeting as well as the appreciation supper help before hand. Laflin talked about the state fair, from Sept. 11-20. He told everyone that the indoor non-food exhibits were due to the extension office on Friday, Sept. 4. The food exhibits are due to the extension office on Sept. 11. Laflin also gave the club a little bit of a background story and explained what exactly he does as an extension agent.
There was no old business.
In new business, a motion passed to pay $100 toward everyone who will be attending KYLF. As a club, they also passed a motion for approving the Constitution and By-Laws for the Madison Pacesetters 4-H Club.
The gavel was then passed to the Vice President Cooper Luthi for the program, Happy Birthday was sung to Brynn Roth, Mason McDonald, Haddie Mae Seaton, Leora Luthi, Jenna Conley, John Curry, Rylee Darbro, Gunner Gaines, and Pate Schankie.
The gavel was then passed back to the Junior President Kenyon Curry for the remainder of the meeting. Wyatt Hoag moved to adjourn the meeting by saying the 4-H motto, and the motion passed.
Kathryn Curry led the club in saying the 4-H motto, and the meeting was adjourned.
Leaders Sherry Roth and Ty Gaines were presented with engraved cutting boards for their support and dedication to the Madison Pacesetters 4-H Club.”
The next meeting is Oct. 7, at the Sauder Center, in Madison.
