Seniors Ava Denton and Jaxson Bogdahn were crowned as the 2026 West Elk Homecoming Queen and King last Friday, Sept. 11, following the Patriot football game.

This year’s homecoming theme was “United in Freedom” and the homecoming song was “God bless the U.S.A.” by Lee Greenwood.
A. Denton is the daughter of Ian and Dana Denton of Howard. Bogdahn is the son of Joey and Stephanie Bogdahn of Moline.
The Patriot football team claimed the win over Udall, 48-0. Additional details from the game can be found elsewhere in this week’s edition.
