OLD BUSINESS

Information regarding the Drip System carried over from last meeting in May was tabled due to Cammie Wilson being absent.

NEW BUSINESS

Since the regular meeting place, TNT Catering, has been sold and purchased by La Taqueria B&B Mexican Restaurant, the club discussed how to proceed for the year. President Sowder, VP Soule and Treasurer Nichols met with La Taqueria B&B previously to decide if there was an option available for the club to continue with the venue. After discussion, La Taqueria B&B could offer serving a breakfast for the same price and meeting space from 9-11 a.m. This conversation was shared with the club. It was also discussed that the club could try another venue if members wanted to go in that direction. Members showed interest in having an earlier meeting. VP Soule mentioned going forward starting with the November meeting to be held at La Taqueria B&B from 9-11 a.m. Sherrie Dennis seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Discussion continued for the October meeting going on a day trip to Botanica in Wichita. There was discussion regarding touring the Garden individually or having a guided tour in the afternoon. Eating before going to Botanica, where to dine and what time to leave were all discussed. VP Soule motioned to go on a day trip to Botanica in Wichita for the October meeting; meet at the “She Shed” to carpool at 9:30 a.m.; dine at the Copper Oven at 11 a.m and have a guided tour at Botanica at 1 p.m. Thornton seconded the motion. Motion carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS President Sowder expressed appreciation to members for all their water and weeding of the Civic Community Garden Project. Fall clean-up day and time will be decided at the November meeting.

Door prizes were won by Sue McDonald, Gwyn Whitmore, Sowder and Soule.

The next meeting will be Oct. 2, with Loria Howard and Seymour as hostesses, with a day trip to Botanica Garden in Wichita.

The meeting was adjourned by standing and reading the Gardener’s Creed.

Following the meeting, members went on a stroll, viewing the yards, plants, flowers and landscaping of Nichols and Sowder.
