The Flinthills Mustangs started off its 2026 football season strong, dominating the Udall Eagles in week one, before falling to Oxford by seven-points in week two.
On Friday, Sept. 4, the Mustangs opened their season at home against Udall, winning 58-0. The team rushed for 278 yards with Senior Beau Hall leading the way with 135 yards and sophomore Lane Jenkins contributing 121 yards. Junior Deken Girty recorded a sack and senior Kyoda Geis and Hall each collected interceptions, with junior Kaleb Grunder and seniors Tripp Carney, Kolter Flores and Brodie McNeil all recovering fumbles. On Friday, Sept. 11, Flinthills fell to Oxford, 32-38. The game was tied at 8 after the first quarter and tied at 24 at halftime. The Mustangs were unable to score in the third quarter and trailed 24-32 going into the final quarter. Although Flinthills outscored Oxford, 8-6, in the fourth quarter, the Mustangs fell 32-38. The team rushed for 199 yards with Hall carring for 136, Carney 20, Faris 8 and Finley 45. Carney connected with Farris on one pass for 9 yards.
