Eureka Volleyball Claimed Second Place At Home Invitational

The Lady Tornado volleyball team claimed second place and Tornado freshman Andee Weatherby was named to the All-Tournament team, at the Eureka Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 12 Eureka went 3-2 on the day, defeating Madison, Fredonia and Independence and falling to Rose Hill and Olpe.

The Lady Tornadoes opened the tournament defeating Madison, 25-19 and 25-21.

Eureka battled Fredonia in three sets, but claimed the victory, 25-19, 20-25, 25-23.

The Lady Tornadoes first loss of the day came from Rose Hill, who went 5-0 for the day to claim the title. Eureka lost the match, 1725 and 13-25.

In round four, the Tornadoes defeated Independence, 25-20 in both sets.

Eureka faced the Eagles of Olpe in their final match of the day. The Lady Tornadoes fell to the Eagles, 25-27 and 24-26.

The Lady Tornadoes and Fredonia concluded the day with a record of 3-2, with Eureka placing second and Fredonia placing third. Independence was fourth and Olpe was fifth, both finishing with a record of 2-3.
