The Eureka High School volleyball team began its season last week, traveling first to Wichita on Tuesday, Sept. 1 before traveling to Conway Springs on Thursday, Sept. 3. Eureka’s varsity went 1-3 for the week.
At Wichita, the Lady Tornadoes defeated Wichita Defenders, 23-25, 25-16, 25-16. Eureka lost to Olpe, 24-26, 24-26.
In junior varsity action, Eureka lost to the Defenders, 25-27, 20-25; and to Olpe, 11-25, 18-25.
Eureka’s C-team lost to Olpe, 1-25, 6-25.
At Conway Springs, Eureka varsity lost to Conway Springs, 25-27, 12-25 and to Flinthills, 12-25, 24-26.
The Lady Tornadoes JV team lost to conway springs, 13-25, 3-25, 5-25 (best of five).
“After battling injuries and new player additions, I was very proud of the girls for their determination and fight. I am excited to watch them grow together this season,” stated Coach Faith Rucker.
Eureka will host their annual tournament this Saturday, Sept. 12, beginning at 9 a.m.
