Toronto News

Here it is September. One of the busiest months of the year. Festivals, fairs, back-to-school, NFL football begins, and birthdays, I read that September has more birthdays than any other one month.

Twenty five years. Can it really be 25 years later? The horrific events that changed our world occurred on Sept. 11, 2001. Seems like it was only yesterday, not 25 years ago. I remember that day well as do most everyone.

What was September originally called by the Anglo- Saxons?

Hello to all in area nursing and assisted living facilities. Hello also to all in area hospitals and rehab centers.

We offer our sympathy to the family and friends of George Butts, Marsha Tindle and Peggy Leis. We offer our sympathy to all others who lost loved ones this past week. May they all rest in peace.

We had some excitement at our house the other night. I let Taco out to do his thing and while standing on the ramp a big skunk came around the corner of the house and headed right straight towards the ramp. I was trying to keep an eye on it and get Taco back in the house and just as I got him inside the door, he slipped out of his collar.

I managed to get the door shut before he got out but it was close. And that skunk I don’t think even noticed us. It headed straight towards the ramp and didn’t look anywhere else. It went under the ramp and I haven’t seen it since. Which suits me just fine.

I had the wooden doors open on the house with the storm doors closed and the windows up, but had to close them as Taco kept running to a door and barking. I was enjoying the rare cool night air we were having. Oh well, back to the AC.

Answer: Gerst Month (Barley month).

I guess the Farmers Market is over with for Toronto. I didn’t see anyone uptown Saturday morning. Bummer.

This weekend is Labor Day weekend. The unofficial end to summer. It may be the unofficial end of summer, but it’s not the end of the summer heat. Watching the news the other night it showed we were supposed to have 8-9 days of triple digit temps. We’ve had enough of them this year, it’s time to cool things down a bit.

I’m not ready for cold weather, but 70s would be nice.
