This Friday, Aug. 28, the Eureka High School (EHS) volleyball and football teams will travel to Marion for the annual jamboree.
The Tornado volleyball team will start festivities facing Marion and Conway Springs beginning at 5 p.m.
Please note the time change as prior start time was listed as 4 p.m. The Lady Tornadoes will face Marion at 5 p.m., with junior varsity (JV) action being on the north court. At 5:30 p.m., Eureka will face Conway Springs, with JV on the north court and varsity on the south court. At 6 p.m., Lady Tornado varsity will face Marion on the south court.
Football action will begin at 7 p.m., with the Torna-does facing Marion, Conway Springs and Medicine Lodge.
In round one, Eureka will face Marion on the north field; round two, Eureka will face Conway Springs on the south field; and in round three, Eureka will face Medicine Lodge on the south field.
Admission to the scrimmage and the jamboree is one sports drink per person (per event).
The junior class prom and the MHS PAC will be hosting a hamburger feed during both jamborees.
JH Scrimmage
The Eureka Junior High School volleyball and football teams will host scrimmages on Thursday, Aug. 27. Volleyball action is slated to begin at approximately 5 p.m., while the football scrimmage will begin at 6 p.m.
Season Openers
The season will officially kick-off for the EHS Volleyball team on Tuesday, Sept. 1, in Wichita as the team takes on the Wichita Defenders and Olpe Eagles at 5 p.m.
The EHS football team will host Caney on Friday, Sept. 4, which will also be the annual “Hometown Heroes” event. The Junior High season will officially begin on Sept. 3, as the teams host Bluestem. Volleyball will begin at 4:30 p.m. and football will kick-off at 6 p.m.
Eureka’s high school girls golf team will begin on Thursday, Aug. 27 with a junior varsity tournament in Uniontown, at 3 p.m. Eureka will host their annual tournament on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 3 p.m.
The high school and junior high school cross country teams will travel to Clearwater on Thursday, Sept. 3, with races beginning at 4:30 p.m.
