A Eureka couple recently celebrated their diamond anniversary on Aug. 12.
Paul Seeley, Jr. and Jacqueline Louise Thornton were united in marriage on Aug. 12, 1951 at the Presbyterian Church in Hominy, Okla.
When they married, Paul was active duty Army Infantry, at the rank of 1st Lieutenant and served in the Korean conflict. They made their home in Lookout, Okla., Fall River, El Dorado and Eureka. Although now retired, they spent many years ranching and served as owneroperators of the El Dorado Livestock Auction.
They have two children, Mike Seeley of Eureka and the late Maryann Brown; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
They remain active with the Eureka United Methodist Church, Kansas Livestock Association, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and Greenwood County Cattlemen’s Association.
The couple plans to celebrate their milestone with a private family dinner.
