County Commission Continued Pay Scale Discussion

Conversation pertaining to the pending pay scale continued at the Greenwood County Commission meeting on Monday, Aug. 10.

Emergency Management Director Levi Vinson shared that he had sent three resolutions for County Counselor Paul Dean to review and continued the conversation regarding elected officials’ compensation. Discussion centered on whether the policy should include Cost Of Living Adjustments (COLA) or not. The commission was in favor of a flat rate, if needed, over a COLA; however, would prefer using a market study analysis. Discussion was held regarding doing a comprehensive market study analysis every three years to make sure the pay scale remains within the market study or if it needs to be adjusted.
