Madison Pacesetters 4-H Club -
The monthly meeting of the Madison Pacesetters was called to order by President Caylin Luthi on July 27. Bennett Raaf led the club into saying the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H pledge. The roll call was “What is your favorite part of the fair so far?” Roll call was answered by 40 members, one cloverbud and two leaders. A quorum was present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read aloud by Secretary Jorja Beeman and were approved by signing by President Caylin Luthi. The treasurer’s report was given by Wyatt Hoag. The reporter’s report was given by Haddie Mae Seaton.
Ty Gaines gave his leader's report. He reminded the group of the sign-up deadline of Sept.
4 for indoor state fair exhibits.
Gaines reminded everyone that the buyer’s meal is on Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m. Gaines said make sure to wear your club t-shirt with jeans. Gaines told everyone that the months of September and October are the months that the club will be signing up for everything in the club and members will need to start re-enrolling oline for the upcoming 4-H year. Gaines reminded everyone that members need to start focusing on their Record Books. Those will be due sometime during the middle of September, and to not put those off. The Madison Pacesetters and The Fancy Mustangs 4-H clubs tied for The Herdsmanship Award. The sale went, Swine- Beef- Goat-Sheep.
Jeanna Beeman talked about the booster club. She told the group that they need to have their ribbons and goodies out before school starts.
Brynn Roth told everyone who was of age (high-school) that if they wished to become an ambassador, they needed to go online and find the Greenwood County application form and fill it out. She told everyone that if you are wishing to be, don’t hold off and make sure that you have two people who can write a recommendation for you to become an ambassador. The applications are due Sept. 2.
There was no old business. In new business, the club agreed to let Jeanna Beeman write a letter to the council on behalf of the club saying that they would like to revert buymanship back to how it was before they had to do posters.
The gavel was then passed to the Vice President Cooper Luthi for the program. Happy Birthday was sung to Caylin Luthi, Kenyon Curry, Kiah Luthi, and Jorja Beeman. The Raaf and Gibson families were the hosts for this meeting.
The gavel was then passed back to President Caylin Luthi for the remainder of the meeting. Mason McDonald moved to adjourn the meeting by saying the 4-H motto, and the motion passed. Archer Schankie led the club in saying the 4-H motto and the meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting is Sept. 12 at the Sauder Center. This will be held after the appreciation supper for the club’s buyers.
