Steve and Arlene Brown were recognized Tuesday, July 28, as the third Community Members of the Month for 2026 for their continued efforts to improve the community.
The Browns were nominated for their volunteer efforts through Eureka Days, Party in the Park and the annual Christmas in Eureka events.
As a monthly recipient, the Browns will now be eligible for Community Mem-ber of the Year, which will be voted on by residents in December 2026 and January 2027. Also receiving the monthly honor this year were Tonya Casper and Tammi Burtin.
Community members may nominate individuals for Community Member of the Month by using the QR code or submitting their name/contact info, the nominee’s name/contact info and the reason for the nomination to news@eurekaherald. com. Forms are also available at The Eureka Herald, LoMar Drive-In and the City of Eureka water office.
Individuals named Community Member of the Month in 2025 are not eligible for the 2026 honor but will again be eligible in 2027. Those receiving the special honor during 2025 included: DeLacy Mitchell, Laura Wallace, Connie Mitchell, Larry and Jo Evans, Christine Mouer and Michele Seeley.
