We have made it into August and school will be starting soon. I can hardly believe it. Where has the time gone? While at the doctor's office the other day, we asked the nurse if her kids were ready for school and she said they were, that they were bored. I don't remember being bored as a kid. We could always find something to do. Question: Which building has six different ZIP Codes assigned to it by the U.S. Postal Service?

The kids made volcanoes at the Library Friday, then took them outside and “erupted” them. I was driving by and saw them all gathered outside for the final event, but was headed somewhere and by the time I came back by, they were all done and everything had been moved back inside. It was awful hot that day, but I doubt the kids even noticed.
Jessie Hoag has really been keeping the kids busy this summer at the library with all the activities. She has fun stuff planned for when the kids go back to school also.

ZIP Code 20301 is assigned to the Secretary of Defense, 20318 to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, while 20310, 20330, 20350, and 20380 are designated for the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps, respectively. This unique system makes the Pentagon one of the very few buildings with multiple official ZIP Codes.
I hope the strong winds are over with for awhile. Got limbs down in the yard again. Happens every time the wind blows hard or for a length of time. It's still better than the alternative of having no trees.
I saw recently that many cities are removing some asphalt/concrete and planting trees! People who were interviewed after some large trees had been set, commented on how much cooler it seemed to be under the trees! My thought was, 'Are you for real?' Even animals know getting under trees or bushes will provide relief from the sun.
It has started a new trend. Planting trees, shrubs, bushes and other plants not only beautifies the area, but provides shade and the plants absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen.
