Over the past year and a half, I have had the privilege of serving as the Administrator of the Greenwood County Health Department. During that time, one thing has become very clear to me: relationships matter. They are the foundation of healthy communities, built on trust, respect, and showing up for one another.
As a resident who has lived and worked in Greenwood County for many years, I genuinely care about the people who call this community home. I have a deep appreciation for the values that make Greenwood County special— strong families, faith, hard work, and neighbors helping neighbors. Those values are deeply rooted in who I am and continue to guide the way I serve our community every day.
I understand that the past several years have been, and still are, difficult for us all. Public health was part of many conversations that were often emotional and deeply personal, and I know our community suffered. My hope is to show you, through our actions, the kind of health department we strive to be today.
I would love the opportunity to meet you and hear which services you feel could be most useful for you, your family, and our community. Your feedback matters, and it helps us better serve the people of Greenwood County. Trust is not built through a single conversation or a single article. It is earned over time through listening, consistency, and being there when our neighbors need us. That is the kind of health department I want to lead, and it is the standard our team strives to uphold every day.
The Greenwood County Health Department is made up of staff who care deeply about the well-being of our neighbors and the communities we serve. Our mission is simple: to provide reliable services, answer questions honestly, listen with respect, and support the health of every person in Greenwood County.
Many people think of the health department only when it comes to immunizations, but our work extends far beyond that. We are continually looking for ways to meet the changing needs of our communities. Recently, we introduced a new preventive health clinic designed specifically for our senior population, and we are excited to continue growing and evolving our services as the needs of Greenwood County change. If you stop by one of our local outreach clinics, I hope you will take a moment to introduce yourself. We know that people have choices when it comes to where they receive services, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve our neighbors close to home. Our goal is to continue providing programs and resources that meet the needs of Greenwood County residents in a way that is convenient, accessible, and centered around the people we serve.
