The Madison City Council meets bimonthly on the first and third Mondays of the month. The following report was generated from the official minutes of the July 6 meeting, which were approved at a recent meeting.
The Madison City Council held their regular meeting on July 6. The agenda, minutes from the regular meeting on June 15, special meeting on June 18, special meeting on July 1, Accounts Payable and Water Adjustments were all approved.
During Open Forum, Luke Leiser with Leiser Construction was present to ask the council for an extension on the demolitions they were awarded. The council approved a 3-week extension due to weather. The council also held discussion regarding sewer issues.
Clerk Alice Grimm approached the council regarding a complaint about a tree at 509 S. 3rd that needs removed. It was noted that after the tree was marked, it was found to be on city property. A building permit to change the sign for Casey’s was approved. Other discussion was held regarding the use of City Bucks and issues with the pump at the pool.
Discussion was held regarding tree trimming and concrete work. The council approved the next stage of the CCLIP project.
A total of four executive sessions were held. The only action taken was to approve a $1 per hour raise after 90 days for Amie (no last name given).
The next meeting of the Madison City Council will be held on Aug. 3.
