K-58 Is Open To Traffic Again In Madison

K-58 and K-249 in Madison have reopened to traffic as a road reconstruction project is wrapping up, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

Some work remains on the project, but it will have a limited impact, if any, on traffic.

Work began in September 2025 to replace a failed box culvert at K-58 and K-249, make intersection improvements and reconstruct a portion of K-58 (Fourth Street to near Second Street).

Vogts-Parga Construction, based in Moundridge, was the lead contractor on the $1.26 million project.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert, follow posted signs and refrain from hand-held mobile device use in all active work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive. gov or call 511.
