After being told additional funds would be needed by the Kansas Racing Gaming Commission for operational expenses, the Greenwood County Fair Board drafted a new budget that would allow for six race days this fall.
On Friday, July 17, the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission approved the six race days as proposed by the local fair board. Races are slated to be held Oct. 17-18, Oct. 24-25 and Oct. 31- Nov. 1.
The fair board also noted that the track and rodeo arena will be ready in time for the Greenwood County Rodeo committee to hold the 15th annual Eureka Pro Rodeo on Aug. 14 and 15. Additional details on both events will be shared in future editions.
