After 14 weeks of training, Aiden Miller graduated with the 359th Basic Training Class at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center on Friday, July 10. Miller will begin his law enforcement career as GW-3, a deputy with the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office.
For Miller, a career in law enforcement has been a lifelong goal. “I have wanted to work in law enforcement for as long as I can remember,” he said. “Growing up, I had the opportunity to do several ride-alongs with local deputies, and those experiences showed me that a career in law enforcement was what I wanted to pursue. I’m grateful for the opportunity to now serve and protect the community that my family and I call home.”
A native of Lamont, Miller graduated from high school in 2021. He and his wife, Macy (Frakes) Miller, welcomed their first child, Creed, in February of this year. When not at work, Miller can be found spending time with his family, caring for their cattle, and helping his fatherin- law on the ranch.
As he begins his career, Miller says his focus is on serving with integrity and earning the trust of those he protects. “My goal is to serve my community with integrity, treat people with fairness, and be someone people can rely on during difficult times,” he said.
Looking back on his time at the academy, Miller says the relationships he built made the experience especially meaningful.
“The best part of going through the academy was building new friendships with my classmates and instructors,” he said. “I hope to stay in touch with many of them throughout our careers.”
