The Eureka USD 389 held a routine July monthly meeting on Monday, July 13, where they approved annual organizational appointments and designations for the 2026--27 school year, including annual appointments for legal representation, district officials, federal program representatives and custodians of public records.
Short administrative reports were shared by Superintendent Shay Demlow, Eureka Junior/ Senior High School Principal and Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Angie Lowe and Joe Thornburg and Marshall Elementary (ME) Principal Stacy Coulter.
During new business, the board approved the organizational plans for 2026-27; designated Community National Bank & Trust as the depository for USD 389; and approved the audit and budget preparation contracts.
The board held a 10-minute executive session with EJSHS administrators Lowe and Thornburg and Superintendent Demlow for student matters. No action was taken.
Regarding personnel, the board accepted resignations from Anna Noble, high school cheer coach; Kendall Morris and Donna Geary, ME paraprofessionals; and Kim Turner, bus driver. The board approved the following employments: Calissa Marlar-Hall, high school cheer coach; Molly Roberts, EJSHS paraprofessional and Ashlyn Smith and Courtney Warrington, ME paraprofessionals.
The July meeting was also the first meeting for Superintendent Demlow.
The next monthly meeting for the Eureka USD 389 Board of Education is slated for Monday, Aug. 10, at 6 p.m.
