1. What interests you about serving in this role?
What interests me most about serving as Secretary of State is the opportunity to strengthen the institution that first inspired my love of civic engagement. I have early memories of going to the polls with my mom, watching her vote and learning that every voice matters. Those experiences shaped my commitment to public service. Serving as an election worker over the last decade has been deeply rewarding. Helping voters, answering their questions, and ensuring every voter feels welcomed has brought me tremendous joy. I want to bring that same spirit of service to the Secretary of State’s office.
2. How do you prioritize competing demands with limited resources?
When resources are limited, I believe it is important to focus first on what matters most to the people we serve. In the Secretary of State’s office, that means ensuring elections remain secure and accessible, supporting the county officials who administer them, and providing businesses with the services they need to succeed. I would approach competing priorities by listening to the people who rely on the office, understanding where challenges exist, and finding practical ways to improve services. Good government means being thoughtful with resources and making sure every decision is focused on serving Kansans.
3. If elected, what would your top three priorities be during your first year?
My top priorities will focus on the two core responsibilities of the Secretary of State’s office, serving Kansas voters and serving Kansas businesses. First, I will increase voter education and confidence by providing clear, accessible information about our elections and encouraging civic engagement. Second, I will continue protecting secure, accessible, and trustworthy elections by supporting election officials, strengthening transparency, and maintaining election integrity. Finally, I will improve services for Kansas businesses by simplifying filing processes, enhancing online resources, and ensuring the office delivers responsive, efficient customer service to everyone it serves.
4. Please list personal information or other information you feel is important.
I bring a unique combination of election experience, public service, and small business leadership to this role. I have served as a Johnson County election worker since 2018, giving me firsthand knowledge of how our elections operate and how to strengthen voter confidence. I also served in the Kansas House of Representatives and have been active in civic organizations dedicated to voter education and engagement. As a small business owner, I understand the importance of responsive government services and the Secretary of State’s role in supporting Kansas businesses.
