1. What interests you about serving in this role?
I’ve been a public servant for Kansans for 21+ years, prosecuting pedophiles and violent offenders. I’ve been serving Kansas’ families in crisis.We are in a crisis now, brought on by illegal tariffs, incoherent wars, and a failure of Congress to do its job of meaningful oversight. My interest lies in my history. I’ve always advocated for justice and the Rule of Law, and that is in short supply these days. My skills as a prosecutor are needed in this moment, to root out the corruption, hold folks accountable, and get us back towards a stable, functional government.
2. How do you prioritize competing demands with limited resources?
You listen to the people who are affected, look at the timelines, and try to combine solutions to make the greatest impact.
3. If elected, what would your top three priorities be during your first year?
My first priority is accountability – we must remove the chaos-makers in DC. We cannot implement policy while we have people creating chaos, instability, and fear. By publicly exposing the corruption, we can force moderates to separate from the extremists.That pressure encourages agreement on popular policy, like revoking tariff power, stopping incoherent foreign conflicts, rolling back the OBBBA (reinstating ACA subsidies), funding Special Ed and Title I programs for our schools (removing the need for local property taxes increases), and removing the earnings cap on Social Security. Pursuing accountability, curtailing executive overreach, and providing relief to hospitals and schools.
4. Please list personal information or other information you feel is important.
I grew up in Dodge City, and have worked all over this state in service to Kansans. I’m married, with two boys and a foster child in Wichita. I am a product of our public school system, having graduated from Dodge City, KU, and KU Law. My service to Kansans comes from my experience of growing up with parents who brought foster kids into our home. I learned from an early age that we have to provide safe places for kids.
