Lucinda Elaine (Garrison) Beck

Lucinda Elaine (Garrison) Beck, 76, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026 in Bartlesville, OK after a very short bout with cancer.

Daughter of James N. and Rosalie L. (Hollis) Garrison, Lucinda was born on August 23, 1949 at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kansas. Cindi would begin life about 12 miles North of Eureka just to the West and a little North of the Upper Fall River Lutheran Church. Cindi attended worship services at this little country church and was very active in Luther League which held activities in the church. She often played piano for League and occasionally for church. She was also active in 4-H.

Cindi graduated 8th grade from a two-room country school known as Dunlap School. She then graduated from Eureka High School with the Class of 1967. She attended Butler County Community College where she met Floyd Beck. They were united in marriage on June 20, 1970 at the Upper Fall River Lutheran Church. After approximately four years, they divorced.

During and after college she pursued several different jobs including being a waitress, a hair dresser, and a sales associate. Cindi then found a position at a facility for special needs individuals called The Center of Logopedics in Wichita, Kansas. Her duties included intake of patients and general office activities. She worked for the Center for several years until the facility closed. She greatly enjoyed her interaction with the residents.

She then moved to Houston, Texas as the manager of an apartment complex. She later returned to Wichita, Kansas and worked as the office manager for a law firm. For the majority of Cindi’s working years, she worked in bookkeeping and office management. Her last job before retiring in 2019 was as the manager of a specialty foods retail store.

While in Wichita she met Ronald Fink. Together almost 30 years, they would make their home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Ron passed away in 2016 from lung cancer. Cindi remained there until her death.

Cindi had an interest in growing different varieties of plants. She enjoyed the challenge of taking almost dead plants and nursing them back to health. She was extremely proud of her back yard where she maintained multiple varieties of plants and usually a small vegetable garden. Cindi was also an animal lover and would care for many dogs and cats through the years. Her last dog, Jake, stayed by her side with his head resting on her legs until she transferred to a hospice facility in Bartlesville, OK.

Cindi was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Rosalie Garrison.

She is survived by three brothers and one sister, Charles Garrison (Pat) of Eldorado, Kansas; David Garrison (Debbie) of Reading, Kansas; Joseph Garrison (Ann) of Overland Park, Kansas; Rebecca Claflin (Mike) of Wakita, OK; and six nieces and a nephew.

One might say Cindi has come full circle. The house is long gone; however, looking from her grave site located at that little country church cemetery, you can still see the tree her father planted on the side of the hill where she began life back in 1949.

Graveside services will be held at the Upper Fall River Lutheran Church near Eureka, KS on Monday, July 6, 2026 at 11 a.m.
