The 2026 Greenwood County Fair is just a little over three weeks away and pre-fair events kicked off this past weekend with shooting sports events.
The annual archery contest was held on June 20 at the Eureka Lake Dam and the annual shotgun contest was held on Sunday, June 21, at the Eureka Gun Range. Awards were presented during a special banquet Sunday evening.
Those winning top honors included, pictured above from left to right: Shotgun Grand Champions: Kenyon Curry, Junior Division; Brody Greenwood, Senior Division; Archery Grand Champions: Camden Wunderlich, Senior Division; and Noah Everly-Burtin, Junior Division.
Archery
Archersbegantheirshooting on FITA (large round target), where they could earn a total of 240 points. Archers then competed in a 20-target 3D course with the chance to score a total of 220 points, for a total of 460 points available during the county shoot.

The following are the results with the participant’s total score, followed by FITA/3D: Grand Champions: Juniors: Noah Everly-Burtin (376, 203/173) Seniors: Camden Wunderlich( 430, 235/195) Reserve Grand Champions: Juniors: Brody Rockhill (334, 175/159) Seniors: Chason Gulick (428, 233/195) Competing in the Cubs division was Kathryn Curry. She shot a 106 in FITA with her recurve.
Others competing in the Junior division included: Compound: Kolten Morton (323, 187/136), Kye Beatty (306, 187/119), Adam Brodie (290, 180/110), Cooper Wunderlich (251, 169/82). Recurve: Ruger Schouten (330, 183/147), Kenyon Curry (285, 179/106), Peyton Hoag (261, 160/101), John Curry (222, 138/84), Tyler Wells (177, 95/82). Others competing in the Senior division included: William Davis (367, 213/154), Tavin Austin (321, 189/132), Cort Decker (291, 178/113), Wyatt Hoag (287, 184/103).
Shotgun
Shotgun participants competed in trap and skeet, where they could earn a total of 25 points per round. Juniors shot 1 round (25 clays) of trap and 1 round (25+ clays) of skeet. Seniors shot 2 rounds (50 clays) of Trap and 2 rounds (50+ clays) of skeet. The following are the results with the participant’s total score by trap/skeet.

Others competing in the Senior division included: Fisher Hobbs (68, 34/34).
The annual Greenwood County Fair will be held Friday, July 24-Monday, July 27, with pre-fair events being held on Saturday, July 18 with indoor exhibits excluding plant science, clothing, foods and visual arts, beginning at 8 a.m., and the horse show at the Saddle Club Arena, beginning at 5 p.m. The public is invited to attend the horse show.
Pre-fair events will continue on Wednesday, July 22 with fiber arts and clothing projects. A public fashion revue will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22 at 7 p.m. The pubic is invited to attend.
