The monthly meeting of the Madison Pacesetters was called to order by President Caylin Luthi on May 13. Bennett Raff led the club into saying the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H pledge. The roll call was “What is your favorite breakfast food?” Roll call was answered by 34 members, two cloverbuds, and two leaders. There were two communications from Caylin Luthi and Brynn Roth, about how thankful they were for the club. A quorum was present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read aloud by Secretary Jorja Beeman and were approved by signing by President Caylin Luthi. The treasurer’s report was given by Wyatt Hoag. The reporter's report was given by Haddie Mae Seaton. Brynn Roth reminded everyone about the buddy meeting with the 4-H council. Caylin Luthi and Roth told the club that at the Ambassador meeting there will be a 4-H day camp at Memorial Hall on May 19.
Ty Gaines gave his leader's report. The first thing he did was have Roth, Caylin Luthi, Emma Fankhauser, and Reese Hurlburt all shared how 4-H helped them prepare for the future and with their academic careers. For the Fair Tour Gaines had the club decide on a date. The club decided on June 28. Gaines reminded everyone that 4-H fair entries opened on June 1.
There was no old business.
In new business Rylee Darbro told the club that on May 24, there will be a photography help set up at Sodens Grove in Emporia at 6 p.m. Beeman told the club about another photography thing for mounting photos at 6:30 p.m. on June 8 at the Sauder Center.
The gavel was then passed to the Vice President Cooper Luthi for the program, Happy Birthday was sung to Gaines, Lane Henke, Hoag, Kathryn Curry, Gunner Gibson, Gavin Gibson, and Jameson Bailey.
Gunner Gaines had a parliamentary tip about a quorum being present or not. Colt Miller had a project talk about showmanship with his pig and how you can work to be just as good as he is. Laikyn Henke had a project talk about the beef project and by-products from beef. Lane Henke had a project talk about Wild Turkey hunting and harvesting. Jenna Conley had a project talk about her junk in a bucket. Gage Gibson had a project talk about how to 3D print things and how to create models. Gavin Gibson gave a show and share about plants. Gunner Gibson had a show and share about a fizzy fountain.
The gavel was then passed back to the President Caylin Luthi for the remainder of the meeting. Mason McDonald moved to adjourn the meeting by saying the 4-H motto, and the motion passed. Bailey led the club in saying the 4-H motto and the meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting is June 3, at the Sauder Center, in Madison.
