Greenwood County Fair Books Now Available

With the Greenwood County Fair less than two months away, community members are urged to pick up a fair book and make plans to enter an exhibit in the annual event.

The fair books are once again printed in magazine form, instead of newsprint. They also are not included as a part of your weekly edition, but can be picked up at several locations throughout Greenwood County, including The Eureka Herald and the Greenwood County Courthouse. The annual fair books will also be available at additional locations later this week. A listing of those locations will be included in next week’s edition.

Included in the annual book, is the open class entry form. The entry form is located on page 3 and is perforated for convenience. Those wishing to participate in the county fair must enter in the various classes by Wednesday, July 1. (4-H/FFA Shooting Sports participants must enroll by June 13) The change to the magazine was made possible through various sponsors.

The annual fair will be held from Friday, July 24-Monday, July 27, with pre-fair events beginning as early as Saturday, June 20. The shooting sports portion of the fair will kick-off the annual event with archery on Saturday, June 20 and shotgun on Sunday, June 21. The annual horse show will be held on Saturday, July 18, with the annual fashion revue being held on Wednesday, July 22.
