EHS Track & Field Competed At Humboldt Regionals
Members of the Eureka High School Track & Field team competed at the 2A Humboldt Regional last Friday, May 22.
Those finishing in the top three in each event (plus the next four across all regionals) qualified for the state meet in Wichita on May 29-30. Teams competing at the Humboldt Regionals included: Arma-Northeast, Central Heights, Chase County, Cherokee-Southeast, Erie, Eureka, Herington, Humboldt, Lyndon, Marion, Mission Valley, Northern Heights, Oswego, St. Mary’s Colgan, Uniontown and Yates Center.
With early press deadlines, due to the Memorial Day holiday, this week’s edition was printed prior the regional event and results were unable to be included.
Eureka planned to compete in the following events: Girls: 4x100, 4x400, 4x800, 100M, 400M, 800M, 1600M, Javelin and Pole Vault.
Boys: 4x100M, 100M, 200M, 400M, 110M Hurdles, 300M Hurdles, Javelin, Long Jump and Discus.

A special send-off, for those who qualified, is TBD. The Tornadoes will leave from the Tornado Activity Center, at Eureka Junior/Senior High School and travel down 7th and Main Streets before turning west on River Street to head to Wichita State University for the state event.

The Eureka Tornadoes competed at the Tri-Valley League track and field meet on Thursday, May 14 at Bluestem. Eureka’s Peyton Hare set new league records in the 100M dash with a time of 10.78 and the 400M dash, with a time of 49.65. Following are the official results. A * denotes a league record.
