A special send-off is planned for this Friday, May 8 at 8 a.m., for Eureka USD 389 students competing in the special athletic track & field day at Emporia State University.
The send-off is slated to begin at 8 a.m. from Eureka Junior/Senior High School and travel west on 7th Street, south on Main Street and east on River Street before leaving the city limits to head to Emporia.
Students representing Eureka USD 389 include: Rosalie McKee, Olivia Drake, Kayla Zuspann, Kolson White, Lydia Cornett, Layne Noonan, Lathan Wallace, Jerry Claytor, Taylor Wells,Jayla Hamilton, Lex Farmer, Alysia Williams, Albus Moralina and Izaiah Green.
Students from Hamilton and West Elk are also participating in the annual event.
