The Southeast Kansas Passports and Pedagogy Group is excited to announce an upcoming informational meeting for students and families interested in a once-in-a-lifetime educational journey. The meeting will take place on Thursday, April 23, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Eureka Public Library.
Lifelong Greenwood County resident Donelda Perkins is leading the initiative, driven by a personal mission to bring the world to rural Kansas. Perkins’ own dream of international travel became a reality when she was just 15 years old. Perkins traveled with Mid-America Band and Choir group for more than 21 days throughout England, France, Switzerland, Germany and Austria. She is now dedicated to providing that same life-changing experience to the next generation.
Perkins will serve as the group leader for a Summer 2028 “Taste of Europe” tour which will feature England, France and Italy with bonus tours of the Palace of Versailles and Pompeii. The itinerary and educational platform are curated by EF Tours, an organization with over 50 years of experience specializing in immersive travel for young adults.
“Growing up in a rural community shouldn’t limit a student’s horizons,” says Perkins. “This tour is designed to give students ages 12-18 a seat at the global table, combining high-quality learning with unforgettable cultural experiences.”
The meeting will review the full itinerary and safety protocols provided by EF Tours. Families who enroll and lock in their spot by April 30 will receive a one-time booking discount. Travel scholarship opportunities may be available. Refreshments will be served.
This opportunity is open to all students aged 12-18, residing in Southeast Kansas who have a passion for learning and a curiosity about the world beyond their borders.
