The Tornadoes 10U softball team hosted the Chanute High Octane this past Sunday for a doubleheader scrimmage, with over 100 fans in attendance.
The first game ended in a 7-7 tie. Brynslee Valentine led the pitching effort, with relief from Brylee Boone.
Offensive highlights in cluded hits from Valentine, Paislee Morris, Charlie Prater, Ellie Gulick, and Amelia Shepherd.
In the second game, the Tornadoes secured a 15-2 victory. Boone started on the mound before Stella Shivers took over in the second inning. Hits were recorded by Boone, Valentine, and Shepherd. Shepherd led the team with three RBIs, while Shivers, Boone, Valentine, Miah Hughes, and Paislee Morris also contributed RBIs.
Coached by Isaac Boone, Lucas Valentine, and Gretchen Reed, the Tornadoes are off to a strong start this season. The team is looking forward to competing in the 7 Game Showdown tournament this weekend, followed by the Cinco De Mayo Tournament the following weekend.
