The Eureka High School golf team put together a solid week on the course, competing at Erie on Monday, April 13, before hosting their own tournament in Eureka on Wednesday, April 15.
At Erie’s tournament held at Pioneer Ridge, junior Mason Hughes led the way with a 92, earning a 10th-place finish. He was followed by Easton Mead (105), Caden Nusz (109), and Maddox Hughes (116), as the team combined for a score of 422 to place fifth overall.
The team returned to action on Wednesday for their home tournament in Eureka, where they improved both individually and as a group. Mason Hughes shot an 81, finishing in a tie for third. He lost the scorecard playoff and placed fourth. Freshman Wacey Ross turned in a score of 89, while Maddox Hughes shot a 91. Also representing Eureka were Tyson Coon (103), Mead (109), and Nusz (113). Eureka finished fourth as a team with a total score of 364.
