Madison/Virgil USD 386 Board Of Education

The Madison/Virgil USD 386 board of education meets on the second Monday of each month. The following report was generated from the unofficial minutes, which are subject to board approval.

The Madison/Virgil USD 386 board held their regular meeting on April 13 at 6 p.m. The March regular board meeting minutes and agenda were approved.

Superintendent Dallas Woolf recognized Justin, Gavin, and Colton Isch for putting compost on the football field. Principal Amanda Schild recognized Ashley Redeker, District Testing Coordinator, for her great help with state assessments.

Members of the District Leadership Team gave an update on Spring activities for the elementary and high school.

The board approved the following Business by Consent: Current Accounts Payable totaling $122,403.26; Treasurer’s Report and the Activity Fund Report.

Chris Stockebrand from SEK COOP presented SEK Fuel opportunities for the district.

The board approved the following items: the use of the district’s high school parking lot for Unbound Gravel; the amended 202627 school calendar as presented; the purchase of bus 23-1 with funds to be paid out of capital outlay; to accept the non-resident enrollment/ open enrollment policy as presented; the Master Service Agreement for Construction Management Services with DCS to further investigate cost/ needs for a potential bond and the USD 386 district school fees for the 2026-27 school year.

Information items discussed were general maintenance for Madison Elementary (MES) and Madison Jr/Sr High School (MJSHS), KESA, grant updates, football field, KASB Policy Plus Option, and Graduation.

Principal Schild gave a Food Service update.

Superintendent Woolf gave updates to the Board on MJSHS activities and the Safe and Secure workshop he attended.

Principal Schild discussed MES STEM night.

The board held a 10-minute executive session with Superintendent Woolf to discuss teacher contracts pursuant to negotiations. Board Member Amy Hind made a motion to go back into executive session for another 5 minutes to the same justification and subject. No action was taken after returning to open meeting.

The board held another executive session for 10-minutes with Administration present for personnel matters for non-elected personnel to discuss employee performance. After returning to open meeting, the board accepted the resignation of Haley Isch at the end of the 2025-26 school year.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:56 p.m. The next meeting of the Madison/ Virgil USD 386 Board of Education will be held on May 11 at 6 p.m.
