National Volunteer Appreciation Week, celebrated April 19-25 this year, is a time to recognize the incredible individuals who give their time and talents to serve others. In rural areas like Greenwood County, volunteers are essential. These individuals are the backbone of the programs, events, and services that keep our communities connected and resilient.
Volunteering is more than just lending a hand. It plays a vital role in community growth and development. When people come together around shared goals, they bring a wide range of skills, experiences, and passions. This collective effort helps address local challenges while creating a more inclusive, supportive, and engaged community. At the same time, volunteering offers meaningful personal rewards.
