Eureka’s junior varsity golf team claimed top honors at Fort Scott on Thursday, April 9, with a team score of 194.
Tornado freshmen Maddox Hughes and Wacey Ross led Eureka, both finishing the nine-hole round with a 45. Following a score-card playoff, Hughes placed sixth and Ross placed seventh. The top 12 received medals, with scores ranging between 42 and 48.
Organizers then placed the next 12 freshmen, with Tornado Caden Nusz placing fifth. He placed 20th overall, with a score of 51. Those placing in the second ranking scored between 49 and 64.
Eureka junior Tyson Coon also represented the Tornadoes. He finished the round with a 53 and placed 29th overall.
