The Eureka Tornadoes baseball team went 0-3 in varsity play and dropped one JV game during a busy week, last week.
Eureka opened with two losses to Caney Valley (2-17 and 3-18), on Tuesday, April 7. In game one, Tristan Milner, Brody Mitchell, and Tate Scott each had a hit, with Milner and Mitchell driving in runs. In game two, Mitchell highlighted the offense with a triple and two RBIs, while Scott added a hit, but errors and big innings hurt Eureka.
Against Flinthills, on Thursday, April 9, Eureka fell 5-16 despite out-hitting their opponent 9-7. Scott led with three hits and Mitchell had three RBIs, but defensive miscues and pitching struggles continued.
The JV Tornadoes also lost 4-12, though they showed aggressiveness on the bases with six stolen bases and runs scored by Camden Wunderlich, Owen Morris, Will Davis, and Hunter Olsen.
Eureka was slated to face Humboldt for a varsity double-header on Tuesday, April 14 and face the Bluestreaks on Friday, April 17 at Neodesha
