The Eureka Herald Participated In April Fools’ Day

With the weekly publication of The Eureka Herald being printed on April 1 this year, staff members opted to participate in the day of jokes.

Last week’s edition featured the front page printed upside down, thus the edition opened from the left, instead of the right, and forced readers to flip their newspaper rightside up when reading the remaining pages.

Several comments were shared with staff members as readers were “fooled,” as well as concerns being noted to ensure staff members were “ok” as they simply thought it was a printing error and knew at least one staff member may be having a panic attack. However, both staff members at the office were part of the silly joke.

A few of the responses were as follows: “The newspaper this week is amazingly fun! Thank you for keeping fun in life!!!! I love it!!!!”

“What the heck? Gotta flip the paper back and forth....”

“Great April Fool’s joke today with the paper opening the opposite side!!”

“My un-caffeinated brain had a hard time with the paper. Must drink my coffee before trying to read the backwards paper.”

“I LOVED IT! Cracked myself up as I set there trying to turn the page, saw the back page was upside down. Thought I was losing my mind.”

“You’re an a****** Thought I finally flew off the deep end while trying to read the newspaper” “Clever April Fools Day joke.”

“Oh my OCD and this paper is not working well” “The farmers came in my office and blamed “the paper lady.”

“It was a good laugh. Thank you for not being humor impaired” “I LOVED IT!! Thank You for the Fun & the Silly!!

“I thought it was a printing error; then I remembered it was April Fool’s Day!”

The staff at The Eureka Herald hopes all of our readers enjoyed the small prank last week, and remember to enjoy the smaller things in life.
